Have an idea for a business or a solution to a problem worth solving? Dingman Fridays advising sessions are held every Friday of the semester from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Dingman Center (2518 Van Munching Hall) and open to all UMD students, staff and alumni. Appointments are required to meet with an advisor. Venture Mentors, Subject Matter Experts, guest advisors and Dingman staff are available to listen to your idea, offer feedback and provide actionable next steps. No need to bring a presentation or business plan; just be prepared to share your idea and receive some great advice from our advisors. \* Requires UMD affiliation\*
The Dingman Center is one of the nation’s pre-eminent institutions where the research, education and practice of entrepreneurship are pursued vigorously. We develop and execute curricular and non-curricular programs that uniquely leverage Smith School thought leadership, experiential learning and our network of practitioners to provide maximum resources to our startup community.
Every initiative is designed to support the Center’s mission within the Robert H. Smith School of Business:
We equip the next generation to launch and support ventures that advance industry and society;
We connect the University of Maryland to the innovation economy; and
We leverage thought leadership and our network to make entrepreneurs of all kinds more successful.
